Retire in Mexico and Enjoy Life

Mexico Retirement - This is what many people in the US are looking forward to. The reasons for this are many. For example the cost of living is cheaper, you can live in a beach front home in a minimum budget of $ 700 per month, eating out is cheaper, houses taxes are less than in the United States and people can save money much more than when they used to live in the United States. For all these reasons retirement homes in Mexico are most sought after.

A survey was conducted with the North Americans living in Mexico to find out what exactly they are looking for when they are thinking of relocating to Mexico. Apart from low cost of living, high security and affordable health care, the rents and taxation are also cheap. In the recent year La Paz real estate has been booming thanks to the number of people who are buying homes and making Mexico their retirement home. Even the market for rental is booming as more people are moving in to Mexico. Though the population of La Paz has seen a steep increase, it is still a quiet residential colony where all the families are one big family and the best part – sales people don’t exist here.

Baja is also growing due to people settling in there and the demand for real estate baja is growing steadily. The area is also developing as a good tourist location and there are number of resorts coming up here. Though tourist places are also coming up in La Paz it is not as rapid as in Baja. Making Mexico your retirement home also has another advantage. The cost of labor is very low here. So, finding a help be it a maid, cook, gardener or even a caretaker will not cause a dent in your pocket. Apart from this finding people to do minor repairs is also easy.

When it comes to health, one can sign up for the national health insurance which would cost about $ 270 per annum and this includes even hospitalization covered in it. Transportation facilities are also very well developed. The newly expanded La Paz airport is very convenient and even the San Jose del Cabo is only two hours’ drive. The climate in La Paz is what most people love. Most part of the year is sunny here. Shopping facilities are also excellent and there are many stores that cater to all the needs of its residents.

It is not important that you have to know how to speak Spanish to live in Mexico. Now as there are more expats living than the natives, English has become the common language of communication. Having said this if you make an effort to learn the local language then, it would definitely be appreciated by the locals. Travelling to US for a holiday is also easy as transportation is not a problem. So, if you want to retire in peace and also not get affected with the rising costs choose Mexico as your retirement home.
